I wasn’t going to write this but talking about Kendrick Lamer’s halftime performance at the Super Bowl needs to be explained since it went over a lot of people’s heads.

It was unapologetically Black, deeply symbolic, and a love letter to his hometown, Los Angeles California.
The biggest protest in history happened on the Super Bowl Stage and a lot of people are screaming it’s boring because it went over their head..
Then again, when we talk about blacks, it tends to go over peoples heads.
The messages Kendrick just sent to America were intentional.
It started with the American Flag being built out of black people as America being built on the backs of black people.
- Samuel L Jackson playing Uncle Sam aka the house ni**ga) like he played in Django. It was the nod to America’s grip on censorship.
- Samuel L Jackson warning Kendrick to play the game white America wants us to play and not be “ghetto”
- The Squid games stage which symbolizes the rich killing the poor and “the system”
- The dancers in Red, White & Blue are representing the American flag.
- The stage also being a prison yard shaped like a Playstation where his black performers harmonized while he rapped.
- Protecting black women like Serena Williams after the disrespect from Drake and her similar C-Walk at Wimbledon.
- Kendrick reminding Drake and the rest of America “They Not Like Us” and showing that America is built on black labor and our intelligence and contributions.
- The system allows Drake to push the Sexxxy Redd to taint the culture (and no offense, I can’t get with Sexxxy Red)
- Game Over. TV OFF. Meaning we’ve been under their control
- Drake Been used to further sour “the system” and be a plant for the same system Malcolm X warned about from the music execs who own media and use it to divide us.
- “40 acres and a mule, this is bigger than music” was a promise of reparations, offering land and a fresh start to formerly enslaved Black Americans after the Civil War. 160 years later, that promise is still broken.
- By the end of the performance, the message was clear—Lamar’s final words? “Game over.”
So again, this is bigger than rap! Also, did you notice the American flag divided?
Most of all, those who didn’t have the lens to see it just shows “the system” has worked and you’re the type it’s been working on.
Here is the kicker: Look at your fb friends who say they wish it was more entertaining. The system rather keep you choosing entertainment over being educated
If you’re mad at it please don’t complain about being looked at a certain way.
Pay attention people!
