Today the iPhone 16 series is being officially launched in the Apple Store.

First things first, Apple did remove their Apple stickers that normally came with your phone. I never cared too much for it but I know a lot of people feel a certain way about that.
On to the display. The iPhone 16 pro has a 6.3 inch screen and the pro max has a 6.9 screen. This makes it Apples largest screen to date. Does it really matter? In my opinion, no. I prefer the slightly smaller screen because it can still fit in my back pocket.
When it comes to its daily use, it’s a different experience. It’s great for multitasking and watching videos. Unless you are either coming from an extremely older model or smaller model, there aren’t no drastic changes. Most of it is an aesthetic update.
When it comes to performance, that’s a different experience. The A18 Pro is a beast especially for those who constantly take photos and create content consistently. Trust me, it’s powerful. The one things that’s be trending is the new Apple Intelligence. I turned mine on to try it out because I normally don’t use Siri. This feature is supposed to “reshape” how we all use the iPhone. It’s limited to US at the moment and a lot of the features are rolling out in states. So we really don’t get the full experience.
Now to my favorite part of the iPhone, the camera control button. It’s positioned on the side of the device and this gives you very quick access to the camera. Very convenient since I shoot a lot of videos and take a lot of photos especially on the go. Within the camera, there’s a lot of interesting features as well. There’s a new swipe feature where you swipe across the camera control to adjust the various settings. It does get a little weird because you might not get the hang of it on the first try.
The camera itself comes with some major upgrades. The Pro model in particular comes with 3 new cameras: 48 megapixel fusion wide, 48 megapixel ultra wide, and the 5x Tetra prism telephoto lens. Obviously, the 48 megapixel fusion wide camera is the main one. It captures so much detail and overall image quality. No mater the conditions, it’s impressive. The 48 megapixel ultra wide provides an even more perspective for landscape shots. Great for when I’m ready to record another music video. The Tetra prism telephoto lens has a 120 millimeter focal length and allows you to get closer without moving closer. This is for my hard-to-reach spots when I’m shooting.
For those who love shooting video and taking tones of pictures, especially photographers who don’t feel like lugging their camera equipment around, this is a decent alternative. The higher resolution and zoom capabilities makes the iPhone pro a great choice.
Let’s talk about the battery life. I found that the battery life gains are noticeable whether you are streaming video, games, or going through your regular daily tasks. This is a great things for heavy users like myself and don’t have to worry about charging or needing to charge halfway through the day. Speaking of charging, the new MagSafe charger now charges faster and supports up to 25 watts. This means you can get to 50% in about 30 minutes.
Should you upgrade to the iPhone 16? I think if you are a creative, content creator, power users, or those who want the latest tech like myself, definitely go ahead and get the 16 pro. If you’re a casual user or honestly have either the 14 or 15 pro, I would wait on the upgrade.
Let me know how you feel about the new iPhone 16 or if you are upgrading.
