As a old school gamer, I’m always here for new releases of games, consoles, and upgrades. Nintendo has been my go to since the 90’s, since the original GameCube.
The Nintendo Switch 2 finally has a release date for June, 5 2025.
According to Nintendo and IGN, the Nintendo Switch 2 price, which starts at $449.99.
Nintendo Switch 2 comes with the following:
- Nintendo Switch 2 console
- Joy-Con 2 controllers (L+R)
- Joy-Con 2 Grip
- Joy-Con 2 Straps
- Nintendo Switch 2 Dock
- Ultra High-Speed HDMI Cable
- Nintendo Switch 2 AC Adapter
- USB-C Charging Cable
The Nintendo Switch 2 has a ton of new hardware features and experiences. The console itself has a 7.9-inch LCD screen and displays games at 1080p. The original Switch is a 6.9-inch screen and the lite has a 5.5-inch screen.
However, if you’re looking for better resolution will be happy to know that the new dock will be able to output video up to 4K resolution and play games at up to 120fps.
The Nintendo Switch 2’s internal battery is a Lithium-ion battery with 5220mAh, and this will allow for about 2 – 6.5 hours of battery life and a charge time of three hours when it’s in Sleep mode. Nintendo noted these are “rough estimates” and that the “battery life will depend on the games you play.”
The Nintendo Switch 2 will have red game cartridges, 256 GB of internal storage (an upgrade from the original 32GB) and can be expanded with microSD Express cards up to 2TB, spatial 3D sound, and more.
Another thing is that that the Nintendo Switch 2 will support Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi 6), it will have 2 USB-C ports, a 3.5mm 4-contact stereo mini-plug (CTIA standard), and a built-in monaural microphone with noice cancellation, echo cancellation, and auto gain control.
The Nintendo Switch Preorders begins on April 9th (April 8th in the UK). There’s also a Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle with a suggested retail price of $499.99 in the United States, which includes a system and a download code for the Mario Kart World game, available from Nintendo Switch 2 launch day on June 5. Best Buy is doing a late night store opening for those who pre order through their website on April 9th. Click Here to find your participating store. Also, if you’d prefer to purchase Mario Kart World separately, however, it will be $79.99 which is too expensive for a lot of fans.
During today’s big Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo showed off a whole bunch of games coming to the system. Something I more excited for because a lot of these games I’ve played the originals on the Nintendo Gamecube.
