This edition of San Diego Comic Con 2024 ended up with new announcements and new trailers. This took place from preview night on Thursday, July 25, 2024 to Sunday, July 28, 2024.
I wasn’t able to physically be there but the excitement is just the same, if not more about the new releases and big announcements.
Here is the biggest announcements and juicy goodness from Hall H at SDCC this year.
New Transformers One clips & Trailer
One of the major panels that was shown on Thursday, July 25 of SDCC was for the upcoming animated movie Transformers One. Three clips for the new film were revealed to the audience, but they weren’t actually released worldwide. However, here are the clips from Gamespot.
The clips weren’t the only thing shown to everyone in Hall H. Transformers One got its second trailer, which was later released worldwide. It dives in deeper into the relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron.
Transformers One hits theaters on September 30.
Lego Mario + Yoshi
Lego reveals Super Mario World set featuring Mario and Yoshi. The Mario And Yoshi model is a 1,215-piece set that features multiple moving elements that recreate animations from Super Mario World. There’s a dial behind Yoshi’s head that extends the dinosaur companion’s tongue, and a crank on the base turns his legs. The set is aimed at adults and experienced builders since it is more complex than your average Lego kit, so kids will likely need some help putting it together.

Peacock’s Teaser And Launch Date For Horror Series Teacup
Now I’m a big horror fan from the classics to gore.
On Thursday evening, a teaser for Teacup was released. We even got an official release date for the horror/drama series on Peacock: October 10.
James Wan (Insidious, The Conjuring) and Ian McCulloch (Yellowstone) will be serving as executive producers on the series. The show stars Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid’s Tale), Scott Speedman (Grey’s Anatomy), Chaske Spencer (The Twilight Saga), and Boris McGiver (Servant). The series is inspired by the 1988 novel Stinger by Robert McCammon.
The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power Season 2
The trailer for Season 2 of Rings of Power was shown to fans in Hall H. On August 29, the first three episodes will be launched on Prime Video.
The Boys, The Prequel is Coming
One of Prime Video’s biggest series is the series The Boys. During Comic-Con the Prime announced a new series: Vought Rising. The series will take place in the 1950s and follow Soldier Boy and Stormfront.
The Crow starring Bill Skarsgård
Skarsgård, whose Pennywise the Clown from It, is playing Eric in The Crow, which will be a new adaptation from the original comic book series. There is a new clip, featuring some fighting in a car, along with Eric dragging his broken body through a tunnel.
Teaser for Creature Commandos
The first teaser for Creature Commandos was shown at the convention. The animated original series arrives to HBO Max in December. The show will follow Task Force M (it’s like the Suicide Squad but with monsters).
Trailer for The Penguin
I really enjoyed the Penguin character in The Batman movie. For those who can’t wait to see how the world of The Batman will expand, there was a new trailer for the HBO original series The Penguin, revealed during the convention. It’s set in the aftermath of the Batman film, and follows the Penguin’s rise to power in Gotham. The first episode premiere is on September, 8 2024. Wondering if there’s a The Batman 2? Yes, but delayed until October 2026. Here’s the details on that.
Giancarlo Esposito’s character revealed for Captain America: Brave New World
Marvel had kept his role strictly under wraps, but during the Marvel panel, it was revealed Esposito will be playing the leader of the Serpent Society, Sidewinder.
New The Thunderbolts footage
For the 2025 movie The Thunderbolts, new footage was revealed for the upcoming flick to those in the Hall H panel. This doesn’t explain the asterisk after the title. It wasn’t released publicly but here’s the details.
Full Title of the Fantastic Four movie
Piece-by-piece, we’re learning more and more about the Fantastic Four film. It starts filming in late-July, and we learned the full name of the movie: The Fantastic 4: First Steps.
Adamantium is coming to the MCU
Adamantium, a strong metal within the Marvel universe, is confirmed to be introduced in the MCU’s Captain America: Brave New World. Adamantium’s power actually surpasses vibranium
Two Avengers Movies Coming Out
Avengers 5 and 6 are coming in 2026 and 2027, and the names of the films were revealed at the convention. Being already a fan, I knew it was coming. Avengers: Secret Wars and Avengers: Doomsday.
Robert Downey Jr. as Dr. Doom!
The biggest surprise is Robert Downey Jr. showing up in a Dr. Doom costume. He’s back in the MCU, but this time, as a villain. He’s really about to be the biggest villain.
