When it comes to my skin, it’s really the most sensitive part of my body. As a kid, I always had breakouts. It wasn’t severe but it was frequent. It wasn’t because of what I ate. Hormones and that time of the month played a role but stress played the most ultimate role.
Trust me, I tried all of them as a teen and because I have sensitive skin, it made it worse by drying out my skin so much it sting. Even though the acne will heel, it’s the hyperpigmentation scars I would have on my face.
I finally perfected a skin care routine that works for me and my sensitive skin. 10 + years of trial and error. Here’s what has worked for me for the last few years.
I start everyday by wash my face with colloidal fragrance-free oatmeal soap. Why oatmeal soap? The obvious is to hydrate and soften but it is also an anti-inflammatory that makes it great for those with dry skin, sensitive skin. It also balances your PH levels.
Key things to know is that you need to read the ingredients because not all oatmeal soap is the same. Make sure it has no fragrances or perfumes. It irritates the skin barrier of your face.
