Alternative Style Goth

To the outside world, Goth is just one big pile of black clothing and heavy makeup. However, that is far from what Goth is. Goth is a subculture that started in England about 30 years ago. In the 21st century, Goth style evolved into a unique style of living.

Pale, thin, and white are deemed the aesthetics of Goth. There are not a lot of black women deemed as Goths or black women into alternative fashion. As a woman of color, I was always called a weirdo and a nerd for wearing black all the time and black eyeshadow. Now weirdo is “cool”, which seems to be adapted into the style of being Goth. I have always stood apart from the mainstream. I have always been weird.

For this style, I am adding a touch of silver. Lace up combat boots from Hot Topic, Black leather-like pants from Wet Seal, Iridescent double strand belt from Hot Topic, Blackcraft fishnet dress from Hot Topic, and Venom tie hood top from Killstar.
