Why does representation matter for you?
Representation does matter. Particularly in the U.S., where our history of bigotry and exclusion directly conflicts not only with our diversity but also our founding ideals, the concept of representation can be a loaded one. However, true diversity is a strength, and we should continue to pursue it both for its own sake and for ours. But let’s not fall for the idea that someone like me can’t identify with others unless we look like them. This give us determination to keep going & keeping representing us.
Where does your overall determination come from?
Determination is something that comes from within. With me, I knew I had to work harder than anyone else because I was different. I think differently and move differently.
What do I love about Slick Chicks? I’m a tall woman with mild chronic pain and fibromyalgia & to know there are still brands that support the everyday woman makes me feel included! Being an athletic woman too, I have always had issues with finding clothing (especially athletic clothing) that fits. Slick Clicks clothing stay on the body. For example, the underwear & joggers do not slide off my behind. The hoodie is my personal favorite because it’s not only stylish but comfortable. It’s thin enough to actually keep me warm in 50 degree weather in California but does make me hot when it’s a little warm.
